Apartment, unpacked. mostly.

I've finally gotten almost all my boxes unpacked, though I'm short of places to put all this stuff.  I'm on call this weekend, but I'm planning on a run to Ikea in the next week or two, just to scope out my options.
It's a bit warm today, but my porch is very pleasant, being nicely shaded.

My Living Room is much better than it was, but it still needs some pretty extensive work.  I figure a armoire-type cabinet to act like a pantry will clean up those unsightly shelves.  Costco has some nice-looking leather chairs/recliners I might look into as well.
Probably no sense in hanging pictures yet, when I don't even know where furniture will be.

The chandelier light is positioned very inconveniently, but I like having the table against the back of the sofa.  We'll see if things stay this way, but for now, I'm liking it.  Once I get a drill, I'll hang the T.V. up, so I can get a cabinet for discs/machines.  This should clean up quite a bit.

The kitchen is still really small, but at least I can cook pretty well in it.  I like the oven, frig and sink very much.
My bedroom is probably worst of all, with all my papers and junk just lying around. I badly need a desk, which would improve this room drastically.  I'll probably bring the large shelves up from the Living Room eventually, though I'm not sure they'll fit in here.  I'd like to get some of my hardcover books downstairs at some point.

The living/dining room with wood-burning fireplace.
Yes, I've already hit that light with my head a half-dozen times.
The entry and first-floor half bath.

The stairway including the laundry closet with washer/dryer (hopefully they work).
The guest bathroom.

The Guest Bedroom.
The Master Bath.

Birmingham

Only one thing to do when you arrive in a new town at 8:30, and that's see what they have to drink!  Unfortunately, this "Tilted Kilt" restaurant next to my hotel wasn't the "Lion and the Rose"-type place I thought it'd be.  More like Hooters, I'd imagine.  Still, they had Yuengling Lager on tap!
